Chief Stephen Fritz offers personalised walking and hiking tours in the Western Cape. Some of the trails offer walks and climbing and some offer the exploration of caves.
The image above is taken from the Devils Peak Loop which is located near Cape Town, this nature trail features beautiful examples of fynbos and wild flowers. This is a 7.1 kilometre trail and it is rated a moderately difficult.
The Platteklip Gorge hiking route takes you to the top of Table Mountain. A relatively good fitness level is required to hike this route to the summit. It is approximately 2.5km in distance. It is steep in sections. You are able to take the cable car down the mountain.
Tartarus Cave in Muizenberg, is set in the Silvermine mountainside. It is an easy walk to the cave on a steep incline. The trail is surrounded by gorgeous vegetation. A narrow underground passage leads to a large, slippery-edged pit.
Boomslang Cave hike is a 3.9 kilometre trail located near Cape Town. It features beautiful wild flowers. Boomslang Cave lies up above Kalk Bay, a relatively easy cave to access, and a great cave for novice caving if you have not done any before. The one entrance faces Fish Hoek and the other faces Echo Valley.
Along the routes of the various trails and hikes Chief Fritz will tell you about the different indigenous plants and their important medicinal uses.
